Romney: "Outrageous" if Reid seats Franken

Mitt Romney, on the Hugh Hewitt show. Transcript once it becomes available.

Other notes:

b) first Obama proposal was "somewhat encouraging".

b) first draft of stimulus has "major problems". tax cuts are "so obscure".

c) TARP money should continue to be used for "shoring up the financial system".

d) "We were going over a cliff" in October, and TARP "calmed.... and kept there from being a cascade of banks going out of business".

e) "We're still at the edge of [financial] cliff"; whereas before, our body was halfway over.

f) "Hopeful" about Obama team. happy that there's no Bill Richardson in the cabinet. Geithner has a "record of expertise".

g) Larry Summers is a "very bright guy", and not a politician. right now we don't need politicians.

h) he's going to try to talk Meg Whitman into running for CA

i) he thinks a "highly experienced business person" necessary for governing.*

*As a related aside to point "i", in a schizophrenic Washington Post piece today, Anne Kornblut quotes Dee Dee Myers spinning a less plausible narrative than Aaron's whopper about how the golden calf came out of the fire (ea):

Dee Dee Myers, press secretary in Bill Clinton's White House, said it was difficult to untangle questions about scrutiny Kennedy faced as a woman from those she faced as a New Yorker, where attention is fierce, or as a celebrity or member of the fabled Kennedy family.

But Myers said that "questions about her résumé absolutely have to do with her gender."

"I don't see it as thin, I see it as unconventional," Myers said of Kennedy's résumé, which includes work as an author and schools fundraiser.
