Defenders of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have created a defense fund to help pay for her legal fees, including those stemming from the now-famous Troopergate probe.
Clayton Paslay, director of the group FreeAmericanCitizens.org, launched "Sarah Palin's Defense Fund" on Tuesday.
Might she take the money?
That's unclear, at this point. Refusing the funds might be a better political move, considering the underwhelming contributions so far.
Twenty-four hours in, donors are beginning to open their wallets. Paslay says that 19 separate donations have been made totaling $730, from sources in Florida, Hawaii, South Carolina, Virginia, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, Maryland, Arkansas, Georgia and Ohio.
(ea) In fact, here's a guess that Palin lets the speculation of a defense fund build; then ultimately turns it down.
She doesn't need the money, but it's an extra notch on your populist belt.
If you'd like to contribute.

UPDATE!: The Sarah Palin Blog says they've received word from the governor's spokesperson that an official Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund will be up soon.
.... It's [the one in question] just not the official one. Please tell people that the official one is soon to come. Again, we do not know that donors will comply with our terms and guidelines which are very strict - we may end up needing to contact every single donor to ask the questions that we will be asking. However, we appreciate any and all assistance! Thank you.
Maybe she will be taking $, after all.
