Roll Call reports that out-going Florida Senator Mel Martinez expects Charlie Crist to run for his Senate seat, and that Martinez himself is likely to move far from the maddening crowd and into the private sector.
Still, does this sounds like someone who just might be leaving a door open?
“I think there’s going to be a real scramble for the governorship, but I don’t think I’m on the short list."
If Martinez really weren't a tiny bit interested, would he really say "I don't think I'm on the short list". That sounds like a Vice-Presidential wanna-be during the dog-days of summer.
