Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman's asked about how Michigan can turn its economy around:
"Well, it's a very simple thing. Capital, investment capital, is a coward and it will flee from wherever it perceives there to be risk in the marketplace. And it will park itself wherever it sees economic freedom. And if your state speaks to economic freedom and the free market, capital will come, and people will stay, and jobs will be created. If capital is scared away, then just the opposite happens."
*Mao's phrase might have been "let a hundred flowers blossom".
