Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, and now Jon Huntsman have all taken hits for their national itineraries recently.
KUTV in Utah:
.... here in Utah, according to three legislators and a couple Republican Party activists, there are rumblings in Huntsman's own party about the governor's travel.
More significantly is this piece from last week's Deseret News, which says Huntsman has missed all Republican county conventions in Utah this year, prompting one Republican to say he might be booed if he shows up at the party's state convention next month.
And there's one more order of business to clear up from KUTV's report, which says some constituents says Huntsman hasn't done enough to explain his stance on civil unions.
Could they be referring to his April 30th interview with National Journal interview, which included this classic exchange?
NJ: Why have you chosen to speak out in favor of civil unions?
Huntsman: Well, I didn't speak out on them, I was asked. And that's typically how journalism works. You're asked a question, you answer it and then it becomes a story. I have long been in favor of fairness and equality as long as I've been in office, and as long as I am in office that's exactly what I'll stand for.
