Meg Whitman's eBay fundraiser drama

The Bay Area News reports on the tenuous relationship between Meg Whitman's run for Governor and eBay.

One example stands out:

1. Meg Whitman's campaign allegedly called what was meant to be a fundraising event for today a "reunion" for eBay employees.

2. Later, the campaign sent out an invitation revealing that the eBay reunion was actually a fundraiser for Whitman.

3. Opposition to Whitman within eBay is somewhat deep thanks to her stand on Prop 8, and perhaps in response to that, Whitman's campaign canceled the event, and is now planning to hold the event in conjunction with Bain Capital* (Whitman's team denies the eBay event was canceled, preferring to call it "combined" with the Bain event).
