Blunt ups his haul to just over $1 million

Last month, Rep. Roy Blunt had GOP insiders nervous and Sarah Steelman giddy with his weak first quarter fundraising numbers ($560K, which was half of Democratic foe, Robin Carnahan's total).

Blunt responded by adding veteran fundraisers Karen Mohan Day (mammon raiser for Jim Talent, John Ashcroft, and other heavies), as well as Heather Grote, who's raised money for Kit Bond.

Yesterday, the machine announced that he'd pulled in over $1 million during the second quarter period. Not superlative, but better.
