Huck on HuckPAC fundraising: "We did great"

During a post-speech press conference at the Values Voter Summit, a reporter asked Mike Huckabee to compare his PAC's fundraising efforts with "other potential candidates".

Huck, via the Tolbert Report:

"The first few months that a PAC is in operation are usually its best months, and our first 6 months, you'll find we did better that several other people who are touted as having a lot of money.

We did great. And we continue to take care of our needs. This is an off-election year, and yet we're busy and active in a number of states to help candidates across the country.

The philosophy of our PAC is a lot different than some. Many of the PAC operate as a conduit of financial support. Our primary focus is to take what we learned in the campaign -- and that's grassroots activism -- on the ground boots, activating people at the local level."

Since the primary front-runners are Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin, and since both have PACs, here's HuckPAC's 6 month performance compared with theirs.

According to a release this evening from Gov. Mike Huckabee’s Political Action Committee, HuckPAC has raise [sic] just over $300,000 for the six months ended June 30, 2009.... By comparison to the other two early contenders in 2012 Presidential GOP Race, Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC raised $1,924,373 and Palin’s SarahPAC raised $732,867 for the same time period.
