Big bucks for Thune

There are 5.5 million reasons SD Sen. John Thune doesn't have an opponent in his 2010 race for reelection.

At the end of the third quarter, he reported $5.5. million on-hand (up from $5.1 million the prior quarter), and has now raised $6.6 million since his election in 2004.
