Erickson: Newt peed on conservatives

UPDATE: After getting feedback that his post was "too rough" on Gingrich, Erickson deleted the original post; replaced it with his more measured take here.

After Sarah Palin resigned, Red State's Erick Erickson said she'd never win elective office again.

And after Newt Gingrich endorsed Dede Scozzafava in NY's 23rd-district, Erickson said ditto in a blog post titled, "Today Newt Gingrich Takes Himself Out of the 2012 Running".

.... for the past several weeks there has been an aggressive effort among conservatives to keep Newt on the sidelines. He, instead, decided to pee on the movement.

Newt endorsing Scozzafava aligns him with Markos Moulitsas who declared Dede the most liberal candidate in the race.

That aligns Newt with ACORN, which has twice endorsed Dede.

That aligns Newt with Planned Parenthood and NARAL, active supporters of Dede.

That aligns Newt with the SEIU, the AFL-CIO, and a host of other left wing interest groups including the gay marriage lobby.
