Whitman's Boxer problem

Here's an excerpt from a press release issued by Barbara Boxer's reelection campaign in 2004.

Meg Whitman:

"Barbara Boxer is a courageous leader and friend of California's technology industry."

Warner Todd Huston comments:

.... elections are built on a fair amount of emotion and this latest revelation will add to the suspicion with which party loyalists will view Whitman’s candidacy. First was the lack of voting and now her support of one of the right’s worst enemies, Boxer? This is an emotional wrecking ball for her campaign.

Meg's voting record and support for Barbara Boxer might haunt her, while Steve Poizner's contributions to Al Gore's Presidential campaign, as well as his refusal to publicly endorse George W. Bush in 2004 could come back to haunt him.

Ont the Dem side.

SF Mayor Gavin Newsom's (D) Whether You Like It or Not could also come back to bite him if he somehow makes it to the general.

So far, Democratic front-runner Jerry Brown's relatively unscathed. He's just old.
