Will Boeing rescue Sanford?

Boeing's big decision to come build its second Dreamliner assembly line in South Carolina seems to have given Mark Sanford something of a reprieve from some pols in the state.

House Speaker Pro Temore, Harry Cato, tells the Greenville News:

“I think a lot of people will say, ‘Okay, the standing of the governor is not hurting us at all, let’s just let the year play out'."

On the other hand, the spokesman for House Speaker Bobby Harrell:

“I think these [impeachment and Boeing] are two totally different issues.”

We'll see how the public reacts.

Even though it was a team effort, Sanford could bask in a refractory period of good will from his constituents. Theoretically, that could mitigate some political pressure.
