The DeMint Dilemma

TPMDC has a great break-down of SC Sen. Jim DeMint and his Senate Conservative Funds' upcoming plans, which include very enthusiastic support for a host of conservative underdogs across the country.

Whenever I hear DeMint talking this way, I'm reminded of his May 1 op-ed for the Wall Street Journal.

Does this sound like Jim DeMint? And yet his name is attached to it.

Moderate and liberal Republicans who think a South Carolina conservative like me has too much influence are right!

I don't want to make decisions for them.

That's why I'm working to reduce Washington's grip on our lives and devolve power to the states, communities and individuals, so that Northeastern Republicans, Western Republicans, Southern Republicans, and Midwestern Republicans can define their own brands of Republicanism.
