Sarah Palin reacts to news that health care legislation passed last night, and in between stark warnings (e.g. it will turn America into an "unrecognizable country"), she returns to death panels.
In fact, Palin posted twice last yesterday -- before the vote passed and after, and both included "death panel" chatter.
Oddly enough, she inserts bunny quotes around the word, which looks like a compromise between acknowledging there actually won't be death panels, and holding on tightly to one of her most recognizable political moments of the year.
From Saturday morning's post:
What’s in this bill? The “death panel” provision is in it. Medicare cuts are in it. Coverage of illegal immigrants is in it. And federal funding for abortion is in it.
From Saturday night's post:
We had been told there were no “death panels” in the bill either. But look closely at the provision mandating bureaucratic panels that will be calling the shots regarding who will receive government health care.
