Prejean and Palin

The Huffington Post's Marcus Baram highlights this passage from Carrie Prejean's new book, Still Standing.

On one particularly bad day, I got a surprising phone call that cheered me up to no end: it was from Sarah Palin.

We talked for a good fifteen minutes. She told me that she was extremely proud of me and told me to stay strong.

"You tell it like you see it, Carrie. People are sick of politically correct answers. You're doing awesome."...

She told me her daughter Bristol was a big fan of mine, and would love for me to call her. We have been keeping in touch ever since."

If you remember, Palin released a statement defending Prejean during the controversy's hottest moments, comparing Carrie's woes to her own.

The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable.

Carrie and I spoke soon after the attacks started; I can relate as a liberal target myself.

What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what President Obama and Secretary Clinton believe - marriage is between a man and a woman.
