Yesterday, Tim Pawlenty was at the Iowa state fairground to deliver an important, introductory address to Hawkeyes.
Here's his speech in two sentences.
“Minnesota and Iowa have a lot in common. We’re a state that if you drive across the Minnesota border into northern Iowa, you can’t tell that you’re in a different state in a lot of ways.”
Jonathan Martin has a full break-down of the speech and visit here.
UPDATE: John McCormick also has a good report of the visit:
Senator Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, said none of the possible 2012 candidates have the upper hand.
“It’s a whole new ball game,” he said. “And nobody should skip Iowa.”

DOUBLE UPDATE: More goodies.
TRIPLE UPDATE: The Des Moines Register's Kathie Obradovich:
Pawlenty undoubtedly scored even more points by arriving fresh from a deer stand near the Canadian border.
He likely didn't knock Republicans' socks off, but he'll likely find plenty willing to look him over the next time he ventures across the border.
