A new Rasmussen Reports poll has Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio tied in the GOP primary for Florida's open Senate seat, 43%-43%.
Key numbers among likely Republican voters:
a. Crist favs 61%/38%
b. Rubio favs 64%/15%
c. Crist's approval rating 56%/43%
d. Rubio, +12% among men; Crist, +11% among women.
Notes: Obviously, a bad poll for Crist. There's a tiny bronze lining, though. Only 9% say they're not sure whom they'd support, which means the race now has decently strong ID among likely Republican voters.
Of course, Crist is still well below the 50% mark, and another tough number is that Rubio's "very favorable" number is +15% over Crist's, which -- along with those straw polls -- probably says something about grassroots enthusiasm for The Rube.
