CNN's Peter Hamby on Tim Pawlenty's meeting with reporters during a stop in New Hampshire last night, which included two comments about Michele Bachmann's wave-making.
First, about her impressive, fifth-place showing in Saturday's New Hampshire Republican State Committee straw poll:
"She is a strong leader," he said.
"I know her. I have got a cordial, good relationship with her. Obviously she has risen as a leader of the Tea Party nationally, so if she chooses to run for president, I think she could be strong candidate."
Second, about her plan to deliver a personal response to tonight's State of the Union for Tea Party faithful (and thus, some critics maintain, undercut Paul Ryan's official GOP response).
"It’s all good," he said. "It’s cool."
