Palin to speak at key evangelical university

Sarah Palin is scheduled to share her "personal testimony of faith" at evangelical bastion, Liberty University, in Virginia this October.

The school's chancellor -- the influential Jerry Falwell, Jr, son of the late, legendary Jerry Falwell, Sr -- says the university will broadcast her speech live to more than 1,000 churches.

A new Barna Poll, released earlier this week, showed evangelicals with high regard for both Palin and Mike Huckabee. The rest of the field didn't fare nearly as well.

Fav Ratings:

a. Mike Huckabee 88%/11%.

b. Sarah Palin 79%/21%.

c. Newt Gingrich 57%/37%.

d. Mitt Romney 56%/29%.

e. Ron Paul 51%/26%.

One note on the Liberty gig.

Newt Gingrich paid a key visit to the school last year.

After he delivered a speech, he met with some of the most influential conservatives in the country -- including the executive VP's of Focus on the Family and The National Religious Broadcasters group.

So expect more than just Palin and Gingrich to start paying visits to the school in the coming months.
