Huckabee, Stewart talk Christianity

Jon Stewart and Mike Huckabee, at the end of a very interesting, nearly 30 minute exchange on the role of Christianity in education, Christmas, and particularly, David Barton, a controversial historian Huck likes and Stewart doesn't.

STEWART: Can I tell you something?

HUCKABEE: Tell me something.

STEWART: I love you, because you challenge beliefs that I have. You challenge easy beliefs that I have and you force me to reconsider them in the context of other issues, and I really do appreciate you being able to do that with such good humor.

....

HUCKABEE: I appreciate you, because you always have a civil conversation with me, and you don't belittle the fact that I have very clear, Christian beliefs, and I appreciate that very much.

STEWART: Because I don't belittle faith. Great faith is, many times, all people have.

And I always say this to people: We need religion to give grace and comfort to a world torn apart by religion.

.... it's always important for people who see a dark side in powerful institutions to also recognize the power that they also bring to people.
