"I'm glad that Newt has joined the race.
I admire Newt Gingrich very much. I think he's going to add a tremendous amount of intellectual heft to this debate. He's one of the smartest people in America.
He comes up with two ideas every minute -- most of them good. I don't agree with all of them, but he's got a real understanding of American history, he's got a real understanding of the American economy.
So I think this is going to add some attention to the Republican race, and it's going to add a really substantial figure who can really express his philosophy very, very well."
