Obama praises RomneyCare (again)

Barack Obama needled Mitt Romney at a DNC fundraiser in Boston last night.

"With a little assist from the former governor of Massachusetts we said that healthcare should no longer be a privilege in this country.

.... We said that in the United States of America, just like here in Massachusetts, you should never go broke because you get sick."

This isn't the first time Obama has praised RomneyCare for its similarities to his own unpopular plan, nor will it be the last.

In February, he told a gathering of governors:

"I agree with Mitt Romney, who's recently said he's proud of what he accomplished in Massachusetts."

Last November, he explained the politics of health care to 60 Minutes.

“We thought that if we shaped a bill that wasn’t that different from bills that that had previously been introduced by Republicans -- including the Republican governor in Massachusetts who’s now running for president -- that we would be able to find some common ground there, and we just couldn't."

Meanwhile, David Axelrod has promoted Romney's plan even more often.

Here's a screen cap I took of him mischievously praising RomneyCare in March.
