Texas Gov. Rick Perry, after being asked why he didn't credit Barack Obama or George W. Bush for the Osama bin Laden raid.
"I didn't say, 'Way to go,' to the president of Texas A&M when the women won the national championship of basketball.
.... I appropriately said 'thank you' to the participants that really mattered ... the young men and women who put their lives on the line every day, particularly those special operators who went in and did the Lord's work, in our opinion, and removed an individual who had been needing to come to justice for a long time."
Perry has a rift with George W. Bush stretching back to the 2008 campaign, when he said that Bush had "never ever been a fiscal conservative."
Further, quite a few Bushies -- including Dick Cheney -- endorsed his Republican opponent, Kay Bailey Hutchison, in their 2010 primary battle, prompting harsh criticism from Perry.
