Gallup has a rough poll for Mormon presidential candidates, Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman.
18% of Republicans say they wouldn't vote for a Mormon for president, while 27% of Democrats agree. 19% of independents also they wouldn't back a Mormon for president.
Both Romney and Huntsman have addressed the issue..
Romney, in February.
"You don't worry about that. If you get caught up in all the things people might say about you or might disagree with you on, why, you can get awfully tied up.... if they accept you, terrific. You are what you are."
Huntsman has been much less open about his Mormonism, but addressed the question in an interview with ABC last month.
"I believe in God. I'm a good Christian. I'm very proud of my Mormon heritage. I am Mormon.
Today there are 13 million Mormons. It's a very diverse and heterogeneous cross-section of people.... I probably add to that diversity somewhat."
And here's Gallup's graphic on its poll.
