As his presidential campaign sputters, I've noticed Newt Gingrich suddenly starting to promote his new book, A Nation Like No Other, heavily.
He's managed to work it into speeches, radio interviews, and television hits.
Check out the plug last night, while he was explaining the disintegration of his campaign to Bill O'Reilly.
"As you know, I have a new book out, called A Nation Like No Other.
It talks about American exceptionalism -- something you talk about a lot. I happen to think that's integral to the 2012 election.
The consultants all thought it was fluff."
Earlier this week, he commented on NBC's decision to edit out the words "under God" during the Pledge of Allegiance.
"I must say that my book, A Nation Like No Other, becomes dramatically more relevant after NBC’s decision."
And during a speech in Maryland last night, he also tied his new book to the conflict with his campaign staff.
"My style is to write books -- I just produced a new book called A Nation Like No Other."
So is Gingrich trying to sell his book more than his candidacy?
Maybe not, but it doesn't hurt to hawk the book when the press still really wants to talk with you.
