On Morning Joe today, Michael Steele lamented Tim Pawlenty's failure to hit Mitt Romney for RomneyCare in Monday's GOP debate.
"You don't want to jump up and down about it, but it fundamentally says something about how aggressive you're prepared to be to run for this office -- both in the primary and, most especially, against the President of the United States.
.... I think Pawlenty lost a good moment there in that debate."
Steele and the panel were reacting to Pawlenty's latest effort at damage control when he sent a tweet Thursday afternoon, acknowledging his passivity in the debate, but nevertheless, leveling a belated hit on Romney.
"On seizing debate opportunity re: health care: Me 0, Mitt 1. On doing healthcare reform the right way as governor: Me 1, Mitt 0."
