The California Republican Party announces that Michele Bachmann will be addressing its annual convention, September 16-18 in Los Angeles.
"We're very excited to have Congresswoman Bachmann joining us for the convention Friday night. I know her pure energy, vibrancy and leadership will be a hit with our delegates," said California Republican Party Chairman Tom Del Beccaro. "This is a great opportunity for us to hear directly from one of the Republican Party's leading presidential candidates."
Last year, there were a number of straw polls at the event that weren't officially sanctioned by the party but drummed up interest.
One of the more notable ones -- Frank Luntz's "applause straw poll", wherein the Fox word guru asked attendees to clap for the candidate they liked best. Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney got the biggest cheers.
