Kinky Friedman endorses Perry

Comedian Kinky Friedman, the world's "most famous Jewish cowboy" and an independent, 2006 gubernatorial candidate against Rick Perry, endorses his former foe.

So would I support Rick Perry for president? Hell, yes! As the last nail that hasn’t been hammered down in this country, I agree with Rick that there are already too damn many laws, taxes, regulations, panels, committees, and bureaucrats.

While Obama is busy putting the hyphen between “anal” and “retentive” Rick will be rolling up his sleeves and getting to work.

Btw, if you followed the 2010 Perry vs. Kay Bailey Hutchison primary, you might remember this little dig from Perry.

Just before primary day, he compared Hutchison to Friedman in an interview with Politics Daily.

When I hear him talk about his opponent, who for months he claimed might not even be running, I have to wonder if not taking her candidacy seriously for such a long time might not be mistaken for not taking her seriously; does he?

"I think that's a legitimate question. Whether or not it gets into the realm of taking her serious as a candidate, I take her serious.

But I took Kinky Friedman serious."

Perry was like that the whole primary -- dismissive, cocky and, ultimately, champion.
