Gingrich: Obama's speech request was "silly"

Newt Gingrich, on Barack Obama's request yesterday to address a joint session of Congress on September 7.

"Under the House rules, you have to have a concurrent resolution of the House and Senate. They don't even come in until 6:00 on Wednesday night.

It was physically impossible. It was a silly request.

And yet, not only is the president not consulting with Boehner and McConnell on policy, he's apparently not even consulting with them on the simplest kind of procedures."
