CNN's Piers Morgan seemed determined to get Rick Santorum to walk off the set over gay issues last night, a la Christine O'Donnell.
He asked 6 questions on the topic -- questions that grew increasingly accusatory.
Morgan's first, two questions on the topic tried pinning Santorum down on the morality of homosexuality. Then he asked Santorum how he'd feel if one of his sons were gay.
Near the end, he claimed that Santorum's views on homosexuality were "bordering on bigotry, aren't they?"
Here are a few of Santorum's answers.
Santorum, on whether homosexuality is a sin:
"The Catholic Church teaches that homosexuality is a sin. I'm a Catholic, and I subscribe to the Catholic Church's teaching.
But that's not relevant from the standpoint of how I view these issues from a public policy point of view.... from a public policy point of view, there are a lot of things that I find morally wrong, or as you would use the term 'sinful', that don't necessarily rise to the level that government should be involved in regulating that activity."
And Santorum, in a more extended defense of his views.
