Virginia is still for Bob McDonnell lovers.
A new Christopher Newport University/Richmond Times-Dispatch poll shows 69.6% of Virginians approve of the Virginia governor's performance.
Obviously, numbers like these buttress his case for the vice-presidency.
I still think Marco Rubio is the front-runner, and also, that his well-publicized denials are anything but. He's repeatedly said he won't be the vice-president and that he's not going to be running for it, but he's never said he would turn it down.
Regardless, McDonnell is someone who's been quite open to the offer, and might help the GOP turn Virginia red again (although if things continue breaking well for a Republican nominee, the party could get greedy and pick someone from a reliable, blue state).
