Cain slows down

Herman Cain spokesman, J.D. Gordon, tells Howard Kurtz why Cain's making so many gaffes.

Gordon says his boss has been doing as many as seven or eight events a day, “and when you do that and don’t use a Teleprompter, sometimes you can make a mistake… People understand he’s not a career politician; he’s very spontaneous, they know how fast he’s going. People give him more leeway than they would someone who’s in Congress or a governor.”

With that in mind, he says the campaign will try to "slow down a little bit, make sure he's rested."

Incidentally, fatigue was also blamed for Rick Perry's struggles in the debates and rhetorical gaffes.

The New York Times, earlier this month: "After rocky start, more study, and sleep, for Perry."

Fatigue -- now not just responsible for decreasing leptin levels, inhibiting insulin production, and raising stress hormones.
