Here's a fascinating little gem in a new Quinnpiac poll of the Republican primary -- Democrats, by far, find Mitt Romney to be the most likable in the GOP field.
Likability, among Dems:
1. Mitt Romney 52%/28% for +24%.
2. Herman Cain 44%/32% for +12%.
3. Rick Perry 34%/49% for -15%.
4. Newt Gingrich 24%/62% for -38%.
Blacks and Hispanics also like Romney -- he's likable by +7% among blacks and +26% among Hispanics.
Meanwhile, Herman Cain is on the wrong side of the ledger with blacks, at -7%.
Romney is the only Republican who's on the right side among whites, Hispanics, and blacks.
Among Republicans, though, Herman Cain is the clear winner at 82%/5% for +77% and he now leads a GOP primary by 7% over Romney. The big caveat is that most the polling was done before the Cain controversy.
