A bad interview for Mitt Romney gets worse, as Fox News questioner Bret Baier claims Mitt got testy with him after the sit-down, too.
"He was irritated by the interview after we were done. What was interesting to me was the response in that I received thousands of emails saying that, substantively, he did very well in it.
Others said I was overly aggressive. "
Bill O'Reilly then asked how Baier knew Romney was irritated.
"He just made it clear at the end of the interview. We had a little talk. He said he thought it was overly aggressive.... after we finished, he went to his holding room; then came back and said he didn't like the interview and thought it was uncalled for."
Bill-O then said that Romney needed to approach RomneyCare with humor -- admit he was wrong, chuckle and move on.
But I think the opportunity for that is long gone. He's gotten himself in too deep on full-throated endorsements of his health care plan, and even if he'd reversed himself a few years ago, you can't chuckle about a health care debacle. Maybe an ill-implemented traffic ticket law, but not health care.
(Btw, Baier said he's gotten thousands (!) of emails over the interview with Mitt. Here's hoping he has his email alerts are set to BBPro_Sanguine, which for you B/berry users, has the sound that holds up the best over the long-term, even though it doesn't have the short-term harmony of BBInspired_Ringer_Starlight).
