Huckabee: Santorum shows Romney isn't inevitable

Mike Huckabee, weighing in on Fox News this morning.

"I really was [surprised] -- and more surprised by the margin. It was significant, and a very, very big night for Rick Santorum.

And I think what it shows us is that this race is a long way from over. After each of the contests, you know there's usually the pundits who come on and say 'Well, Romney is inevitable. He's the likely nominee. It's a matter of time'.

I think what we saw yesterday was: nobody is the inevitable anything."

A couple thoughts.

1. If Huck or Sarah Palin wanted to influence the race in a huge way, they'd immediately come out and endorse Santorum. Imagine heading into Michigian, Ohio, and the South with that.

2. As he's said in the past, Huck probably won't endorse, which brings up a good point -- he's been one of the most even-handed, fair pundits of this entire election. Wonderful forums, interesting interviews, and a light touch -- all presided over by those big puppy dog eyes.
