Mitt Romney makes the request on Fox News.
HANNITY: Do you want more debates than are probably going to be scheduled? Usually two -- one with the vice-president, so there'd be three.
Would you like more?
ROMNEY: Oh, of course. The challenger always wants more debates. I'd like to be able to debate the president as often as possible.
Three things.
1. This is the first time Romney has asked for more presidential debates.
2. He sort of had to answer "yes" to the debate question, since Gingrich has already challenged Obama to seven, three-hour debates, and Romney needs to look as game for the duel.
2. Hannity is off. The debates have already been scheduled, and there will be three between the president and GOP nominee, and one between Biden and the GOP vice-presidential nominee.
