Mitt Romney adviser, Eric Fehrnstrom, on MSNBC's The Daily Rundown today, responding to his Etch-a-sketch gaffe from two weeks ago.
"I hope the people at Etch-a-Sketch appreciate everything I did for them."
He then claimed that "fair-minded people" knew he was talking about the shift from the primary to the general election; not a shift in positions, but Chuck Todd pointed out that the comments were a response to a question about ideological positioning; not procedure.
Fehrnstrom didn't answer but instead went into a talking point riff about the race changing but not the candidate.
(Btw, what's the chance that Romney calls himself "severely conservative" in a potential convention speech? I think somewhere between Peace in the Middle East and Warren Sapp on a balance beam at the Olympics).
