PENNSYLVANIA: Romney ad campaign begins today

Salena Zito reports that Mitt Romney is up in Pennsylvania today with a $2.9 million buy that will run through the April 24 primary.

The ads will run in Wilkes-Barre, the Philadelphia area, Scranton, Erie, Altoona, Philadelphia, and -- starting next week -- Pittsburgh.

For his part, Rick Santorum's cash-strapped campaign promises that it will "soon" begin running ads, although there's precious little in the way of specs.

“We’ll make an ad buy, no question about that,” Santorum’s national communications director Hogan Gidley told ABC News.... Gidley said when the campaign does purchase air time in Pennsylvania they will use it to run a hard-hitting commercial that portrays Romney and Obama as the same person.
