That's Rick Santorum's spokesman, Hogan Gidley, giving The Huffington Post yet another reason why his boss left the race.
"Texas had to be winner take all," said Gidley.
"That would have been very, very helpful. Obviously, that is 155 delegates sitting on the table, and we know there have been some ... within the conservative movement trying to get that accomplished. But that was becoming increasingly difficult."
If you remember, Santorum's people were pushing Texas to change its proportional allotment to winner-take-all. That would've made a Santorum victory in the state much more lucrative. The rather transparent push failed.
