In 2008, Romney picked Joe the Plumber over Colin Powell

On Fox News this morning, Colin Powell once again said he wasn't ready to endorse either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama in the 2012 election.

He also took a shot at the role Joe the Plumber played in the 2008 campaign.

"Senator Obama, at that time, had surrounded himself with some rather smart, gifted people, and when I looked at the McCain campaign.... I heard about Joe the Plumber."

Well, in 2008, Mitt Romney said he'd actually pick Joe the Plumber over Colin Powell in an interview with Fox News (Powell had endorsed Obama).

CAVUTO: If you had your druthers and could pick between Colin Powell or Joe the Plumber, who would you pick?

ROMNEY: Joe the Plumber, there's a lot more of them, but you want them all. I do not want to minimize Colin Powell. It means a great deal to those who listen to him and follow him, but most people follow their own heart and their own assessment of what is in their best interest.

Meanwhile, here's Powell's shot at the Plumber today.
