A new NBC/Marist poll of Florida differs by 13% from a Quinnipiac University poll, released yesterday.
In the NBC poll, Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney, 45%-40%, while in the Quinnipiac survey, Romney led Obama, 47%-41%.
Internals:
a. An Obama-Biden ticket narrowly beats a Romney-Jeb Bush pairing, 47%-45%.
b. An Obama-Biden ticket also beats a Romney-Rubio pairing, 48%-44%.
So, according to this poll, the difference between Rubio as VP and Jeb as VP is negligible.
c. Obama's approval rating is 48%/45%, which puts him below the 50% mark and makes him vulnerable, but it's not too terribly bad.
d. The POTUS also leads narrowly on the economy, 46%-44%, and 77% of registered voters say they'll make their decisions based on the economy.
e. Obama also leads on social issues (+5%), foreign policy (+9%), and relatability (+11%).
But Romney leads on the deficit (+8%), which plays well into his push to link it with the economy as a kind of double-whammy.
