After an extended look at the electoral college in his Wall Street Journal op-ed today, Karl Rove concludes:
Mr. Obama long ago lost his chance to duplicate his 2008 performance. A record of failure will do that. He's now forced to fight for states he easily won in 2008.
The odds now narrowly favor a Romney win.
Here's the short guide to Rove's "3-2-1" approach that hands Romney the 270 votes.
3 = Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia -- these are the states Obama flipped that have historically gone Republican.
2 = Ohio and Florida.
1 = one more state from the following available: Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, or New Hampshire.
