Katon Dawson, a former chairman of the South Carolina Republican party and major figure in the state, comments on Marco Rubio's weekend trip to the key state for a GOP fundraiser.
[Dawson] said that if Rubio does run for president someday, he won't have to worry about trust issues with the Republican base here.
"He has already made nice with South Carolina," Dawson said. "He is a conservative warrior."
If you remember, Rubio also visited Iowa a few weeks ago.
The Iowa visit + South Carolina visit + Refusal to rule out VP suggests that Marco doesn't just have 2012 Veep admissions, but also seems to be prepping for a 2016 presidential bid.
And as if that weren't enough proof, he's already using language that suggests he can only bear with the Senate for so long.
"My single greatest frustration about the Senate is the lack of urgency.
In Washington in general and the Senate in particular."
