Is repeal a pipe dream?

Ryan Lizza notes that, despite all the talk about "repeal and replace", a President Romney would have to sacrifice too much to try.

The negotiations would be dead before they started if Republicans demanded repeal as a price for a Grand Bargain on taxes, spending, and entitlements.

.... there is literally nothing Republicans could offer Democrats in return for repealing the Party’s greatest achievement since the Johnson Administration.

A lot of conservatives probably know this is true.

But is their inevitable activism based on the idea they can actually help repeal ObamaCare or is it simply about punishing Obama?

If it's the latter, the electoral consequences could still be severe.
