Rubio scores well with Florida independents

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Marco Rubio retaining solid popularity in Florida with a 51%/31% approval rating.

Breaking it down:

a. He's at +16% with independents, +24% with men, +15% with women, +27% with whites and +22% with Hispanics.

Democrats and blacks don't approve of the job he's doing (-32% and -15%, respectively).

b. He's popular in every geographic region with the southwestern side of Florida being his strongest (+48%) and the southeastern side his weakest (+2%).

c. His rating has fallen slightly from +27% to +20% in May. But that +20% number is in line with the past half year.
