Greg Sargent makes a good point -- do centrists really have the stomach for yet another battle over ObamaCare this November?
After all, it's now been fought at every level, and moderates who don't like ObamaCare might finally say "Okay, The Yankees and Heat won. Give them their rings. Time for the off-season."
Of course, activists would never say that, but again, the indies who decide the election might.
Sargent:
No question, the overall law remains unpopular.
.... But are independents and moderates really going to respond well to the renewed GOP push for full repeal? We’ve already fought the battle over Obamacare twice — first in Congress, and now in the Courts.
One of the primary arguments for full repeal — that it represented Big Government overreach that trampled the Constitution — has been discredited by the highest court in the country. The law has now been enshrined as constitutional.
