Gallup notes that Barack Obama's current support with whites is considerably off his 2008 performance, dropping from 44% to 38%.

The poll also found that Obama has slipped from his 2008 performance with every white subgroup.

Obama has also lost ground with white Protestants, white Catholics, those with another religion (-12%), and those with no religion, at all (-10%).
That being said, Gallup does note a sliver of opportunity for Obama.
.... the decline among his core 2008 white supporters could make these the easiest groups of voters for him to win back -- something the Democratic Convention this summer and Obama's fall campaigning will no doubt strive to do.
