Chris Christie is kind of like a Pixar movie

He's popular across the board with nearly every demographic in New Jersey.

A new Monmouth University poll (pdf) shows Chris Christie still enjoying extremely strong approval ratings. 52% of New Jerseyans approve of the job he's doing as governor, while just 36% disapprove.

That's a +16% net rating.

Other big stats:

a. Christie has an enormously impressive 57%/31% rating with indies for a net +26%.

b. Men approve of his job, 58%-32%, while women approve of him, 45%-40%.

c. Even public workers barely disapprove of him, 41%-47%, while those who don't hold jobs with the government give him a +22% rating.

d. 46% of independents think he helps their state's image, while just 27% say he hurts it. Even public workers narrowly think he improves Jersey's image.

e. Everyone -- Democrats, Independents, Republicans, men and women -- think it's a good idea for Christie to be the Republicans' key note speaker at the convention.
