He's popular across the board with nearly every demographic in New Jersey.
A new Monmouth University poll (pdf) shows Chris Christie still enjoying extremely strong approval ratings. 52% of New Jerseyans approve of the job he's doing as governor, while just 36% disapprove.
That's a +16% net rating.
Other big stats:
a. Christie has an enormously impressive 57%/31% rating with indies for a net +26%.
b. Men approve of his job, 58%-32%, while women approve of him, 45%-40%.
c. Even public workers barely disapprove of him, 41%-47%, while those who don't hold jobs with the government give him a +22% rating.
d. 46% of independents think he helps their state's image, while just 27% say he hurts it. Even public workers narrowly think he improves Jersey's image.
e. Everyone -- Democrats, Independents, Republicans, men and women -- think it's a good idea for Christie to be the Republicans' key note speaker at the convention.
