The Republican National Committee has made a $5 million TV buy supporting Mitt Romney in the swing states of Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, and Colorado.
An RNC official told CNN that "The RNC's fundraising success has allowed us to add an independent expenditure in addition to fully funding the ground game.
"That the committee's financial situation would be this strong would have been unimaginable when Chairman Priebus took over," the official continued.
The ads will start running on Saturday.
