Romney will mark country's birth with Kelly Ayotte

Michael Falcone reports that Mitt Romney will march with Veep prospect, Kelly Ayotte, in a New Hampshire, July 4th parade tomorrow.

The two will also reportedly spend time in her home, and once again, this is bound to stoke speculation that she's on the short list.

I don't doubt she's fairly high on his list and that Romney will have his pen and pad out while she's stumping with him, but don't make the mistake of reading too much into this pairing on this iconic day.

Romney is in New Hampshire, and who's the highest GOP officeholder in the state? Ayotte. So it's only natural that the two would stump together. If he were in Ohio on July 4, he'd be stumping with Portman, in Florida with Rubio, in New Jersey with Christie etc.,
